Bournemouth have signed Sevilla defender Jules Kounde on loan for the season, with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.
The Frenchman is expected to provide competition for the likes of Nathan Ake and Charlie Taylor in the centre-back position, and will be hoping to impress during his time at The Cherries.
Kounde has made over 150 appearances for Sevilla since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.
He was named in France's World Cup squad this summer, but did not feature in the tournament due to injury.
The move to Bournemouth comes as a surprise given their recent poor form, but they may feel that Kounde can help them turn things around.
It remains to be seen whether the club will try to sign him permanently or if they will look elsewhere for reinforcements in the transfer window. However, one thing is clear - Sevilla fans will no doubt be disappointed to see their star player leave after such a successful spell in Spain.
